The Lunar Inn

Nestled in the Quidi Vidi neighbourhood just steps from the heart of downtown St. John’s, the Lunar Inn is an Indigenous-owned boutique guesthouse and immersive learning space operated by First Light. Thoughtfully designed to celebrate Indigenous cultures, stories, and hospitality, the Inn offers every guest an opportunity to learn through place, relationships, and experience. Throughout the year, it welcomes both travellers seeking a unique place to stay in St. John’s and participants in First Light’s experiential learning programs.
The Inn features four fully furnished guest rooms, each with its own private ensuite. Every room has been thoughtfully curated by local Indigenous artists, whose stories, creativity, and deep community connections are reflected throughout the space. A shared kitchen, dining area, and comfortable common room invite guests to gather, enjoy a meal, or simply slow down over a cup of tea.
During weekdays, First Light staff are onsite from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including our Cultural Host, who is always happy to welcome guests, answer questions, recommend resources, and support those looking to deepen their understanding of Indigenous cultures and communities. Guests are also invited to explore our growing library of books by Indigenous authors, along with films, music, and other resources celebrating Indigenous histories, cultures, and contemporary perspectives.
Whether you’re here to participate in an experiential learning program or simply to enjoy a more meaningful stay in St. John’s, we invite you to engage as deeply as you wish.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Lunar Inn.
